Too Many Incidences of Tripping Circuits? Check for the Reasons Thoroughly!

A sudden power off in your home, and you panic to the verge of sweating! And when you investigate, the issue may just be a tripped circuit. It ain’t anything dangerous, or is it? A tripped circuit can be a cause of some petty minute thing, or can be a reason behind something really dangerous in the place.

Whatever the reason may be, if your tripper chooses to give up quite frequently, you shouldn’t hesitate calling an electrician in Browns Bay from Brite Sparx Electrical to look into the matter. They are just a phone call away, and would be present at your location at any hour to investigate and solve the issue at the earliest!

Watch out for these factors which can be the root cause of a tripped circuit!

A tripped circuit can lead to major inconveniences and accidents in the place. That is why it is extremely essential to be aware of its causes and try your best to prevent or treat the issue at its onset. Below are listed some of the common causes of the tripped circuit!

  • Overloaded circuits — Overloaded circuits are the most common cause of tripping. Your trippers are designed in such a way that they should go down when the circuit gets loaded beyond a limit. It’s because it prevents heating of the system that may cause electrical fire damages.  When a connection is plugged in that grasps much more power than needed, or when lots of appliances are plugged in a circuit simultaneously, it overloads the circuit, and the breaker trips. That’s when you have to check what’s plugged in the circuit or are there too many devices in action.  Some such devices are vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, hairdryers, and other corded tools.
  • Short circuits — It often happens that a terribly hot wire comes in contact with a live wire. This results in sparks that can be really dangerous and may even light a fire in the circuit. A tripped circuit is a sign of this danger and warns you about the issue. Immediately contact an electrician to check the fault to avoid any mishap.
  • Ground fault — Just like short circuits, ground fault surges happen when two hot or live wires come in contact with each other. In this case, one of them can be a ground wire, the wire from the edge of the box or from the ground source. This generates more power than your circuit can handle and that is the reason for the sudden tripping of it. This is one of the most crucial issues and demands a certified and experienced electrician to check the source of the wires and the issue there.
  • Worn out or damaged breakers —Most of the time, there may not be any issue at all in your circuit. The breakers may trip just because they have aged and have simply worn out. This requires just a replacement as soon as possible.

If you are too tired of this constant headache of circuits tripping or are worried about the dangers behind it, you should call an electrician soon to look into the problem and help you out!
